Is it okay to let my turtle eat some cuttlebone, like the stuff that parakeets use to sharpen their beaks? I\'m a little worrried because the package says they have 5 percent salt and my turtle is a red eared slider.

Thanks.

Cuttle bone is excellent for turtles. Just remember to peel off the hard backing before putting it into the tank. You have to use a knife and BE CAREFUL. (I say that loud because I have cut myself several times). If you leave it in the tank for long periods of time it gets kinda nasty, so it\'s best to remove it once in a while to let it dry out.
