Submersable or Cannister?

I have a 40 breeder tank (36x18x16) for my 2 RES, and I wanted some suggestions on a good filter to make cleanings easier. Some people suggest the Fluval 4 submersible (right now I have the Fluval 2 in the tank), or then I hear that cannisters are better. I was thinking of going with Marineland canister and spending $60-80. Or I could go with the Fluval 4 and spend $35. Is this sufficient enough to do the job? Please help.

I say go for a fluval 404 or a filstar xp3.....they cost a little more than what you were planning on spending, about $100.

Go with Fluval 304 or 404 canister.....not the Fluval 3 or 4 submersible. you will have to pay more, but you will be happier with it and in the long run you will have a filter theat is cabable of a larger tank.

I use the 304

Thanks, I just ordered the Fluval 304 from big als online. I can\'t wait to set it up. Is it hard to setup?

Well, since you have 2 filters both the Fluval 2 and if you get the Fluval 4 as well I think its good enough.
