I have a red eared slider that is almost three years old. SOmetimes he will get up beside his tank, looking out as always, and bring his front arms out in front of him like he is about to do a swim stroke but instead sort of...quivers. His two front legs just kind of move back and forth very quickly. What is this?!?!?!

The temp is about 80 degrees, four and a half inches from tale to nose in a 10 gallon tank (I know time for a bigger tank), he\'s got rocks to sun on (flat and stepped so he can climb out which he does under a uv light and then a moon light at night).

Any ideas?

Thanks much.

He is doing the mating dance... can he possibly see his reflection in the glass? He will do this if you put a mirror on the side of the tank also.
