I\'ve been trying for 3 days to feed my RES in a bucket other than the tank in which they live, but they don\'t seem to like the idea. They do eat the shrimp treats though but not the regular sticks. Would they learn eventually? I\'m not giving them any food in the tank now, hoping they would surrender to starve and start eating in the bucket. Should I be more patient and keep training them?

Feed them only pellet foods in the bucket and then if they eat that give them the shrimp. They will soon eat in the other bucket. Just takes some time and patience.

They\'ll have to get used to the new surroundings and procedure. My turtles know when they get put into the Rubbermaid contaier, it\'s dinner time.

So be patient and the turtles will eat... eventually. I think feeding in a separate container will definietly keep your tank cleaner.

Cheers,

it took us a few days to get our turtles to eat pellets. now they gobble them up! just be patient and when they are hungry enough they will eat.
