I have on of those little ponds that you get from a garden center and it is about a foot to a foot and a 1/2 deep. Is that deep enof for them to hibernate in the winter? I live in west Alabama and it can get quite cold at times. Is there a temp. that would be to cold in a pond like this, if so what would it be? Could it be heated somehow a little?
Thanks,

The pond should have at least 1 foot of mud and leaves. How old are your turtles? What types do you have? Are they healthy? Will it be cold enough for them to hibernate? It might be a partial hibernation... a total hibernation, they would not come up for air.

Cheers,
JJ
