Baby snapper how to hibernate

I recently rescued a baby snapper on the highway and i already have one. my mom started an otdoor pond garder adn its nearing winter......will the baby be fine in the winter and also tell me how to hibernate it.

well, you\'ll need a substrate for the snapper to bury itself into at the bottom of the pond.

Should I do that for my RES? I think I\'ll fill it half way with dirt or something.......................

i think sand would work good + not muddy up the tank, i think you only need a few inches, not a foot
