Bath Tub

Post by toxiceagle2007 » Sat Mar 19, 2005 9:28 am

One other question. I have the chance to buy a 30 gallon tank/set up for like $50 if I go and pick it up. Is this gonna be big enough for a while. I have two 3in RESs. Thanks!

lol well i take my turtles to the bathtub as a trip..but actually they hate it maybe cz it\'s tooo big for them..well if u can setup the lights and everything then i guess it\'ll work for some time..but u will have to check on them a lot cz u don\'t want ur turtles to be double depressed (from the new home + feeling ignored)..

for the 30-gallon one..hmmm u said each turtles is 3 inches which means that each one needs 30 gallons seperately..i don\'t know if it\'ll do for a while..maybe if u put the basking area on the top or something it\'ll do for sometime too..

good luck and tell us what u\'ll decide on:)

Dixie,

How do you have your turtles set up in a rubbermaid? I might have to go that option for a while too. I got my turtles without realizing that I\'m only allowed to have a 30 gallon tank in my dorm room. Ooops....

i wanted to suggest a rubbermaid but ur problem is with space not money that\'s why..

well if they exclude rubbermaids then they work fine..it\'s a big storage box so they might not notice:D

in my case, i don\'t have lights and since their tank is small i don\'t need filters cz i change the water every 2-3 days max.
but i\'ll be getting a bigger one soon (a really huge one) and then i think a normal filter is ok with all the heaters and stuff..if it is a real rubbermaid (branded) then it shouldn\'t melt that\'s what i know..

i hope i could find pix of rubbermaid setups online..i\'ll keep looking and post some when i find

Well...the rule book says no aquariums over 30 gallons....it doesn\'t mention anything about rubbermaid containers full of water :) So they\'d have a hard time finding a rule that I broke....hehehe

the rule book said no aquarium over 30G but does it said something about how many aquarium?!? u could use a shelving unit with 2 or 3 fishtank of 30G... or if u don\'t want to separate them maybe 2 fishtank side by side with the basking area on top of both?? just some suggestions:D

Thats not a bad idea. I have a few old aquariums at home, just none that are big enough. Maybe I can some how make use of a few of them...for a while at least!
