Don\'t buy them in stores. They\'re too expensive. Buy one online.

I am about to invest in the 404 (http://www.hagen.com/usa/aquatic/produc ... 2150020101). The Big Boi. The biggest one they have. I have a 56 gallon Wide tank, with about -30 gallons of water in it. I have 3 turtles and I find that with the Fluval 4 (http://www.hagen.com/usa/aquatic/produc ... 1750021001), I still end up changing the water, cleaning the filter, about twice a month, wich isn\'t that bad. I\'ve had that filter for 2 years now and I have not had to many problems. I\'ve done alot of research and I found this. If your going to buy something. Buy it once. If you get the smaller size and 2 years you get a bigger tank/more turtles/whatever. You are going to want to upgrade. Now you bought it twice. Check \'em out. I\'m not to familar with the upkeep and media for the canister filters. I\'m glad I will get this for my turtles first, before I get on for my freshwater tank....

P.S. Thank god for Tax returns.

I have a 404 in a 55gal tank. Just got back from a 3 week trip to a \'clean\' tank! The petsitter fed my guys in the tank and it was still clean. It took me awhile to adjust the intake and outtake for the best results. By the way, my tank is in front of a window and I was not sure if it was a good idea or not until today when I cleaned the tank draining out the window and refilling with the hose - so easy! It does seem that the fewer things on the floor of the tank the cleaner it stays.
