I recently came home from my fall break and brought my turtle with me. He was acting fine until yesterday. Yesterday he was just laying on the end of his dock and didn't get up to swim around before I fed him. I thought he was dead at first because his eyes appeared swollen and he didn't move when I turned his lights on. In a few minutes he opened his eyes and they were clear and didn't appear to be swollen anymore and after he first 'woke up' he started swimming around just like usual. The same thing happened today. He is still eating and seems to be fine after he firsts wakes up, but its never taken him that long to get up before. Could he be getting sick? Should I take him to the vet?

hmm,I personally would say yes, take him to the vet.
I'm not an expert or anything on here, but I would definately take him to someone who is.
Keep us posted, let us know how everything turns out?!
Good Luck!

The temperature of the water has been the same, but the air outside was much colder than I expected so that could have been the cause of it. I've raised his water temp to 85 and I am going to get him to a vet as soon as possible.

There isn't a vet close enough that will treat turtles. At least not one that I can get to before it closes. So what should I do now?

Is your turtle acting more normal since turning up the temps?

The swelling in his eyes has went down, and I got him some Dr.Turtle and some vitamin supplements. So with the raised temps and the medicine I hope he'll get better.
