Just to offer a few things that can be done in a stock tank being a much wider footprint than a 12" wide (average US tank) or even an 18" wide ( large US tanks) with glass sides. Also can find them 8 to 12 x's cheaper than glass tanks. The advantage of the weight difference too ! Use a price tracker and you can find them even cheaper. Farm supplies and tractor stores have cheapest prices. Big box , plant nursery's or even ponds shops have much higher prices.
I find turtles adjust much faster and feel more comfortable in them. You can offer more turtle things for them. A 150 gallon stock tank is 3' wide and 5' long. Been using them for over thirty years with no problems. I got some new Rubbermaid's / 150 gallons for $70 each and free shipping a little while back using a price tracker.
Never seen a natural pond with glass sides.
