Do RES\'s shed? I have one that has a white but thin translucent substance around his head and neck. I\'ve tried to wipe it off but he just bites at the Q-tip. He\'s healthy otherwise. And it does look like shedding skin and I read some of the other post that were similar and the answer was shedding skin. Plus one more thing. Should I feed him all he wants to eat? He\'s a pig! I think he would eat as long as we would feed him. When he see\'s someone near the tank he even begs for food! He\'s still a baby but growing fast. (about 2in. long)

Also only feed your turtle the amount that could fit inside the turtles head not including the neck. I heard that turtles don\'t really know their limit on food and always begs. You don\'t want your turtle to grow too fast or be obese.

Thanks for the info. I guess he\'ll be going on a diet cause I\'ve been feeding him way to much. He will eat the pellets right from your fingers and everybody gets a kick out of that but it\'s going to stop now! at least until feeding time. It will be hard to ingore his begs but hopefully he\'ll get the message before long!
