Hello everyone, my name is christine and i am an real big turtle lover. I have about 100 fake turtles in my room and have just recieved my first real baby turtle as a birthday gift. if anyone can give me any advice on his care i would love to hear it. i am not sure what type he is but he does look like a res except he has a red stomach. anything will help even if you can tell me what type he is.

hello christine Image

u are lucky if u got a RES bcz they are the most common turtle pets and the best for beginners..read the care sheets on this site they are very helpful and read anything that comes into ur hands about turtles to be ready for everything..how old is ur turtle? what\'s it\'s size? gender if u know..do u have any pix yet?

good luck:)

ALL OF YOU ARE SO NICE!!!!! Thank-you.
I think he is a flordia red belly cooter. I figured that out thanks to the website that STRAYKINGFISHER sent me to. I hope you all still except me even though he is not a RES. I will get some pics so everyone can see my new baby. Thank-you again.

I can\'t speak for everyone but I\'m sure you are welcome to come back as often as you like, post any question and we\'ll find (or try) the answer to your question. (I\'m sure the rest will chime in later)

The reason I call it a squirrel cage is that on some fans instead of having blades they will have what looks like a hamster cage that produces the air currents that the blades are supposed to, and when I was in the military, that is what it was called, so that is what I know it as, besides, other rodents use it too, mice, hamsters, etc., although I must admit, I have never seen a squirrel use it either
