What are these two little fellas?

Not sure what kind of turtle you have? Come in and ask the turtle community.

Hello,
I have two Turtles but unsure what they are, I thought River Cooter and Hieroglyphic Turtle, but think I'm wrong.

Hi,

One on the right is a Eastern River Cooter and one on the left is a False Map Turtle.

Interesting that you mentioned “Hieroglyphic Turtle” I am assuming that you were told the one on the left was “hieroglyphic“ turtle? Even though it is not common, Map turtles might be called “Geographic” turtles because of their scientific Latin name.

Actually until sometime ago, River Cooter(right) used to have subspecies called Hieroglyphic River Cooter but it is now generally not valid subspecies after genetic studies.
