I bought some feeder fish today, and the sign said they were \"Comets\". the salesperson said they were goldfish...do you think they are ok?

Comets are a type of goldfish. Depending on how big your turtle is, and how big the fish are, they may or may not be ok. There\'s nothing wrong with the fish, but if these fish are large compared to the size of your turtle\'s mouth, it\'ll be a very messy feeding. When I get feeder fish, I typically get guppies, since they are smaller and usually swallowed whole. It\'s a lot less messy and guppies swim a little faster than goldfish, so it\'s good exercise for the turtles.

Goldfish aren\'t the best option for your turtles. They are higher in fat content then all of the other fish you can buy, and are messier. Yes, guppies are a good option, but minnows and mosquito fish are as equally suitable. Do not feed frozen fish!!! Low in thiamin and vitamins!!!
