Re: some urgent questions...

opps, I forgot about your first question.
i suppose he could live in shallow water, but he\'d be much happier if he could swim around and get his back wet. As long as there is a place provided for him to get completely out of the water to bask under a heat lamp.

As long as you keep giving him srimp he\'ll keep on eaten them! But your right about not getting the proper nutrients. If you completely stop feeding the srimp and start feeding veggies, fruit, pellets, crikets, worms, various other meats he\'ll soon learn variety is the spice of life. He\'ll probab...

Update on turtle tangled in hair.

The mat, and that is exactly what it looked like, finally came out! How weird! I guess the hair had to be more of a mass before it could pass. ha ha Seriously, though, the k-y was to loosen any hair that might be entangling internal organs, and no food would allow the muscles that work the bowels to...

OK guys, here\'s the formula for detangling a turtle that\'s got tied up in your hair. No food for 3-5 days and a K-y rinse 3to 5 times a day! That\'s what you call \'cream rinsing the tangles out of a turtle\' LOL! She\'s doing just fine except she\'s trying to tell me how hungry she is by gulping ...

I\'ve never seen any worms in my tank but a few years ago my turtles had to be treated for worms. So they could be insect larvae. But to be on the safe side, you should take a stool sample into the vets. I always use diluted amonia to clean the tanks cause it evaporates and turles are more tolerable...

Yeah, don\'t worry, she\'ll be eating soon. And then she\'ll start acting like she\'s starving to death everytime she sees you! Be sure to keep her on a regular balanced diet and don\'t overfeed her cause she\'ll grow to fast. It\'s not healthy for them to grow fast. A favorite food for my turtles i...

So long as they live in a healthy envirement, with the right lighting, diet, water and all things turtles need, most will slow down a little. The colder the water gets the slower they will get. Make sure the water temp maintains around 75 to 85 degrees, even with it getting colder outside.
