Re: Turtles safety and mine!

with it being oldedr and bigger~older turtles naturally take that role. when i first got harley and isreal i couldn\'t put them in the same tank with linus and sally. linus is very aggressive and she takes the dominant role. she would bite the smaller two and drag them off their basking area. if you...

it\'s very normal to shed. it\'s a growth process. feel grateful, mine do it every 2 to 3 months and are huge now. keep their tank clean as you can and don\'t worry about the rest.

Re: turtles outside?

natural sunlight is always best for a turtle. I wouldn\'t do it until the summer and then for only short intervals at a time. They are not use to being outside and there are many diseases in the soil they can contract. Last year I let mine loose in the yard for about 30 minutes at a time and they ha...

as long as it\'s made of plastic i don\'t see why not. my turtles are huge so it\'s harder for them to get on something without it being attached to something. go ahead and try it and tell us how it turns out.

I can imagine they do. but usually any kind of tilt to the swim indicates that one of the lungs is infected. have him checked out to be safe. it can\'t hurt. plus, they need check ups every once in a while.

it does, and turtles are notorious for biting. ingesting that stuff can kill them. I have a plastic log attached to the side of the aquarium by suction cups.

no as a matter of fact he isn\'t. try buying small feeder fish such as guppies and put them in the tank with him. this will allow him to have extra excerise by chasing the fish on top of giving him some of the nutrients he needs for a balanced diet. young turtles are carnivarous at first and as they...

it\'s a normal growth procedure. fungus on a shell looks green and sometimes even mossy. your turle is only shedding. be prepared, they grow quickly and can shed as much to 2 to 3 times a month. their skin also sheds so don\'t be alarmed when you see this.
