i've kinda gotts disagree with the "rule"

i think it should be only five gallons for every inch of shell my turtle is and ich long and seems to be boing just fine, even though i only filled the water up half way.

i don't like to argue, buut that is just my opinion i'm sorry!! :twisted: :oops: :)

ATTENTION: UV BULBS!!

my pet store owner cleary states that turtles do not need a UVB bulb and do just fine with just a UVA bulb. UVA does help with proper calcium absorpstion in turtles. I have also experienced this myself with my turtle. Full Spectrum UVA bulbs are just fine for turtles!!! :)

if you want to get turtles under 4", you need to get them from an online breeder. i'm not sure what websites, i'll make another post :D !

it is illegal to sell turtles at a pet store under four inches, but its is not illegal to sell them as a hobby from an online breeder.

i know its dumb :? .....

my 1 inch turtle is doing fine in a 5.5 gallon tank i think that rule should change! He swims happily, often doing laps from side to side and top to bottom. :lol:

yeah i have romain lettuce i hear iceberg has no nutritional value

is it safe for turtles to swallow cuttlebone and will the turtle taste any difference in the vitamin d3 and calcium powder??

my fluval 1 cost me 27.00$!!!!! but mine is also probably alot smaller

red bell peppers are a type of sweet peppers though. they are ot spicy at all. you'll find bell peppers stuffed and in omeletes!!!!!sorry i didn't mention that :oops:

I started to feed him lettuce and he seems to be nibbling it.
He does eat reptomin baby, he swallows the pellets whole!!!!!!!

He only likes to bask for 20 minutes or so, but he does it multiple times in a day. That's good right? :?:

sorry poop your party, but the guy at the pet store said it is too late! :? :twisted: :cry:

he eats well, but i have trouble with him basking, he doesn't seem to want to do it. Also he is a lot more scared then he usually is.......

my school hatches turtles then releases them into the wild and them monitors them and they do just fine! :D Contrary to most beliefs once captive turtles, even hatchlings can survive in the wild!!

His eyes are not red or or puffy or even swollen. But I did just get him a 5 gallon tank and he seems to be doing pretty well in there. He eats about 2-3 pellets a day, which seems pretty normal, but i still give him a little extra just in case. Don't worry i can spend the time cleaning it a little ...
