No signs of illness. It is eating fine. And it really isn't being bullied by the other ones unless it's feeding time. They push the wee one around a little then.

The shell is still semi soft and I think it's just because it's still so small.

Thanks,
Nick

Need Help or Need To Get Rid Of Turtle!!

Hello All! It's been awhile since I posted on here. Hope you are all doing well, as well as your pets. I have had 2 baby red ear sliders for about a year now and I recently received a baby painted turtle as a gift. It was very small when I got it and was eating well. I put this baby in my 75 gallon ...

Holy cow they grew fast! I've had mine now for about a month and I haven't noticed any growth at all. Does that mean I am not feeding them enough?

I may be interested in your turtle. I just need to find out about that kind. First, does it live in fresh water? Do I need to do anything special for this kind of turtle? Does it eat regular turtle pellets?

I right now have 2 baby RES and one 4" Painted turtle.

Feeding too much?

I have owned larger turtles in the past with no problems, but I am new to the hatchling thing. I noticed that their shells are getting the shape of a triangle or pyramid. Why is that? Am I feeding them too much? I feed them once a day and only portions the size of their head. What will happen to the...

Bubble on top of water....

Not sure where to post this question, so I picked this one because it has to do with the tank.....

Does anyone else's tank get full of bubbles on top of the water? If so what causes that? I don't really like it, but I will have to live with it if there isn't anything I can do about it.

Thanks,
Nick

How do you have your lights set up then? I have two hatchlings in a 30 gallon tank. I have rocks that slope up on one end where they bask. I placed the basking light in the back left corner. I have a 24" light that goes across the length of the tank and I pushed it to the front of the tank..... are ...

I was just curiuos about UVB lighting. Can the turtles absorb these rays while they are in the water or does the light need to be focused on their basking area?

It probably is an Eastern painted turtle. I'm not sure if southerns are in your area but it could be one of those too.

I can post them for you if you would like. [email protected]

Too much food? Really...? What does it mean that the shell is peaking?

What do you guys suggest I do? Limit her food? Give more calcium?

If I take her to the vet, will I get in trouble because it's so small?

I read that it is illegal to sell baby turtles, is it alright to own one?

Thanks,
Nick

Has anyone tried putting live plants in there turtle tank?

If so, is it hard to keep them alive? And do you have to do anything special to make them stay alive?

Hello!

Sorry for all the questions..... I'm just learning. I never thought I would get this into turtles! lol

If I have a proper UVB light and feed my turtle food that says it has vitamin D3 and calcium. Do I need to feed them powdered calcium and D3?
