Re: MY TURTLE IS DYING!

No offense man, but these are all wild caught turtles, correct? Is it not possible that the stress and strain of going from wild to captive could be doing a serious number on their bodies? After being wild all of their lives and now being stuck in a small (comparaatively speaking) container may be r...

Turtle needs ex lax

I\'ve had my turtle for about a week now and only yesterday did it dawn on me...I\'ve yet to see turtle poop. What does turtle poop look like anyway? I imagined it would look something like fish poo and have yet to see anything. I know the only thing that he ate prior to coming here was turtle pelle...

Re: a break from turtles!

I went through a spell about 6 months back when I liked appaloosas. I actually found my Mom\'s horse for her. I\'m over them now though, and even when I did like them it was only certain coat patterns. They are kinda creepy now. That white around the eyes is pretty scary. Me, I\'m an Arabian person....

Re: a break from turtles!

Green hair rocks! I love unnaturally colored hair. I usually have a stripe or two of purple mixed in with my blonde. A lot of people see that immediately think \"Rebelious teenager who doesn\'t give a lick about anyone or anything.\" I know there have been a few adults who have passed judgement, and...

Re: how much do turtles in your area cost?

You can buy a RES for educational purposes for $19 or at another place you can get a 20 gallon set up and 2 \"free\" RES for something like $120-$190. I don\'t remember the exact amount.

Re: a break from turtles!

Unfortunately it is people like stunt pogoer that give people like myself who like to listen to hard music a bad rep. Anyway, back to the original subject. I\'m 16 years old, born September 6, 1988 and just got my first turtle today. A freakish amount of people consider me goth although I feel more ...

Re: Adopting my first turtle

Dixieee, Yeah, you can use filters with rubbermaids. I know a lot of people in the goldfish hobby end up using rubbermaids because either they didn\'t know how much room goldfish actually need and bought to many to begin with or just couldn\'t resist bringing another little creature home. Tanks are ...

Re: Adopting my first turtle

Woo! I just remembered my other question! It was about filters. Under Gravel Filters, as they worth it? I read that they can be used and I was wondering if they are actually worth it. They are cheaper, which in my situation would be great. About changing 100% of the water once every month or two. Wh...

Re: Adopting my first turtle

I don\'t have any small tropicals. Right now I just have my 3 goldfish, which are my babies, my gourami, and my 2 bettas. None of which I would like to see eaten. I was, however, thinking of putting some guppies (fancy) in with the turtle and then (s)he can much on the hoards of fry guppies are know...

Adopting my first turtle

To make a long story short my best friend was given a turtle (red eared slider) from her little Sister\'s aid. No one realized how big these turtles get or how much they need. The turtle is currently housed in a large-ish critter keeper with a little dish he can submerge (by not really swim) in. Due...
