Re: Does any body know

I love that we have such interesting conversations at this site. I dunno how I feel about animals being as smart as humans & being able to communicate with us. On the one hand, it\'d be fun to see if they would be as petty as humans could be but like Trailrider said, it could also be a scary tho...

Aww, I wasn\'t here when all that stuff was going down, but I\'m glad it seems over with. :D

I liked the Blonde Joke, the three strings one was a little TOO corny for me...lol, but I like reading new jokes nonetheless, so thanks for posting!

Hi! A cousin of mine once found an Eastern Painted Turtle in the Hudson River & gave it to me. When it tried to eat my baby RES turts I took it to the conservatory in the park around my way. I was told that the turtle was over 50 years old b/c of it\'s weight, length & the color of it\'s she...

Cowgirl,

that joke was SO funny! I emailed it out to my friends. I had not read a funny turtle joke yet (reptileman, I haven\'t posted on this site for over a year, so I didn\'t get to read yours).

Thanks!

Re: biteing turt

Hi, Your turtle biting you is probably just a reflex b/c it thinks it needs to protect itself, either that or your finger might seem like food. Make sure your turtles are fed before handling them. The one time I got bitten (hard) by my turtle was when it was really young & I hadn\'t fed it at al...

Re: what can i feed him??

What kind of turtle? If it\'s a water-based turt, then they probably won\'t eat out of water (e.g. Red Eared Slider) because it needs the water to help it swallow. Bread isn\'t good for turtles, you should buy them some pellets or fish (look at the care sheets to find something appropriate for your ...

Blind Turtle?

Hi everyone, It\'s been a good while since the last time I posted. My turtles are now almost 3 years old and I\'m starting to be a little concerned about Chompers eyesight. :( Whenever I go to feed the turtles, they come up to my hand. Jade always gets the food on the first try while Chompers can\'t...

Re: Where are water turtles supposed to sleep at night?

Hi Everyone! I was reading the post on the grass set-up and I hope that you\'re getting your turtle a heating lamp and water heater soon, John. Turtles are cold-blooded, which means that the depend ALOT on their surroundings. At night it gets cold, and your turtle may get sick if it\'s not in a warm...

Sorry, but I hadn\'t checked the posts in a while. By a pinch, I mean about 8-9 pellets for each turtles. Definitely not a handfull, but less than what I\'ve read on the site. Also, what would be the preference among allturtles.com readers? Live fish or thawed out frozen fish?

Hi Allturtle Msgboard members, I\'ve read a couple of posts concerning how to feed the turtles. I have 2 two year old turtles that are about 5\" long and 4/1/2\" wide, and I feed them a pinch of Reptomin pellets 2x a day. About two or three times a week, I\'ll substitute a meal of Reptomin...

Your turtle may not be eating because it needs time to get acquainted with its new living space. When I first got my baby turtles I had set up their tank, but they weren\'t eating. If you don\'t want to deal with the hassle of them making a mess in their normal tank, or maybe if you have a big tank and don\'t want to have to clean it out so often, you could use a smaller tank to feed them and then just dump that water out when they\'re done.

I don\'t know about the grey one, but the one that looks like a RES but doesn\'t have the \"red ears\", is probably a Slider turtle.
