yeh they are way too young to mate! the bigger one might be mating but the female will not respond or get pregnant because she is not mature enough. its like a girl not on her period. lol sorry for that but its a good comparison. watch out though cause if 2 turtles are doing the mating dance to each...

Re: Possible New Turtle Owner

the size of the tank depends on the size of the turtles. the rule of thumb is, for ever one inch turtle shell, there should be 10 gallons of water. and turtles grow fast so i would buy a slightly bigger tank. 20 gallon tank means that 20 gallons fits in the whole tank.

either the red sides faded because of age so it would be a red eared slider, or else it could be a normal slider turtle which have yellow stripes.

how big are your RES??? that doesnt seem like enough space for them. the rule of thumb is 10 gallons for every 1 inch of shell. if she is pregnant you should seperate her from the male so he doesnt bother her while she figures things out. she usually would slow down eating and dig into the floor to ...

if it looks like a slider but with yellow ears it must just be a normal \"slider turtle\" instead of a \"red eared slider\" the slider turtles are yellow at the sides just like red eared sldiers except without the red patch. as for diving. mine dont dive. they just run into the water lol
