They do always need to be heated. A 100 watt bulb does provide some heat, but I didn\'t find it good enough. Also, it could make their basking area to hot for them to bask on if it is to close to the water. Their water needs to be kept at 78-82. An underwater heater is your best bet on this. A UVB b...

Here is a web site that I hope will help. It mentions them together (having similar habits and stuff), but aside from this I don\'t know. http://www.nsis.org/wildlife/rept/turt-cooter.html

I bought a new tank today and the lid cover has a layer of glass for the light to sit on. Will the light (UVB) lose it\'s effectiveness by trying to go through the glass or is that only when you use the sunlight as your source of UVB? Thanks.

As soon as I turned to him he looked like he was going to hop back in the water, but he just stared at me and I ...
Hello, I am new to the site and so far I love it. It has been so informative, I have learned a lot of stuff. I have a question that I would like to ask. We have had our turtle for over a month now and he/she is still terrified of us. He is thriving and healthy (which I am happy about) and I enjoy wa...
