Re: what if we dont want RES babies??

when breeding res they need a box filled with dirt to lay boxes in, at that age they cant breed but if they do lay eggs that are fertile in the future than you can just freeze this or throw them out. Before you jump to conclusions alot of people reccomend not keepin res eggs because there are tooooo...

Red ear slider albinos are very easy to find on the internet today, you can find them at www.turtle-town.com and shawn is a breeder i highley recommend. Technically when the first albinos were breed they had to inbreed to get more but res are so common it wasnt hard. I find albinos to be very attrac...

Re: question about breeding and water temp........

Slidersorc your right, their breeding capability is limited by their size, femals need to be a little bigger than males, but male res become sexually mature at 4-5 inches. and females around 6-7, also if you have res i wouldnt reccomend breeding them, they are to common and get large. You would help...

I forgot to add that res shouldnt be doubling in size in the first few months, it should take roughly 2 years for a res to reach 4 inches, and thats growing healthy. After 2.5 inches or a year old i reccomend feeding every other day. If you feed your turtles to much you can cause pyramiding in their...

Alright, what you all have heard is WRONG, with a capital W, turtles do not just grow the the size of the containers, they will continue to grow, thats why those plastic bowls they put in in are called death bowls, there is no way to regulate heat in those bowls and the turtle often gets sick and di...

I wouldnt reccomend breeding res, they are too common and unless you are going to house them all or find good homes dont do it. Males can get along but quite often they get into fights with other males, males can also pick on the females to, if this happens you should seperate so hes not always tryi...

Yes its normal, but you shouldnt be able to see to much of the skin shedding, if you can, the temps could be too high, you could be over feeding, or your turtle has a fungal infection. Its probably the temps or overheating.

As for the six guppies your fine, just try not to feed them to many at once. To much protien can be bad for them. The white spot on its back could be shell rot.. Im not sure by your description.
