Sounds like perhaps a three toed box turtle. They can be colorful throughout the face and legs...but they tend to have a shell that is a drab olive greem.

I have a 20 year old Eastern Box Turtle that is having some MAJOR behavior issues. He originally was housed with a female ornate and a female three toed. Thank you all for your advice! I did go to a vet...as I work for several :). So far the slider is doing well. I managed to make a splint that seems to be working pretty well. I figure I\'ll leave it in place for 6 weeks or so, then re-xray it and see if it is healing. I\'m giving him injections of B...

Hi everyone, I just rescued a slider who was hit by a car. He has a fracture of both his carapace and his plastron.
