of an 18 year old RES living amicably in the same tank with my 3 year old Cooter and 2 year old map?. I'm asking because there's an 18 year old RES up for adoption and I feel so sorry for it having been a pet for that long to be cast aside :( I don't have room for a seperate tank though :(

i wouldn't risk it especially if the 18-year old has lived alone for all that time. it's a fully grown turtle and there will be a big difference in their sizes. sorry for that, i hope it finds a good home. what a shame to be leftover after all that time :!:

OMG its worse than a 20G they have a 18 year old RES in a 24" x 12" tank, I don't know what to do now!!!

edit: that works out at only 12 UK G I'm going to have to take him, if she'll let me have him, she's over the other side of the country! Can't stop thinking about the poor turtle stuck in that little space! Do you think it could have damaged him being cramped up like that? I guess even if he doesn't get on with my turtles I can set up a smaller tank and it will still be an improvement to what he's in at the moment!!

well apparently after saying that I could have him yesterday, she's rehoming him with someone closer to her. I just hope they have the sense to get him a bigger tank :(

That's so sad! :( I hope he gets a bigger tank in his new home, poor thing. He would've been so happy to have a caretaker like you turtbert! Atleast you tried!
