Do you mean unfiltered sunlight (sun through glass like a window, plexiglass, etc. filters out almost all the UVB rays and your turtle can\'t benefit from them) or light from a UVB light? If you mean a UVB light, like Shortstack said, your turtle needs an average of 12 hours a day. If you mean actual unfiltered sunlight, which is much stronger than the UVB light, 1.5 - 2 hours a day should suffice. Even if the sun is out, make sure the temp is warm enough to bring him out. (And when it gets really hot, make sure he has some shade he can go to as well.)
