i have 6 RES
theyre about 6 years old in a 40 gal tank
i do weekly water changes but i will miss a week here and there

last week i noticed one of them had wounds on its hind legs that looked like the other ones have been biting it. i tried to keep an eye on them and hoped it would heal. no apparent change in behavior except he spends more time out of the water and his appetite doesnt seem to have diminished much.
tonite i noticed the legs looked about the same (not really healing) and the flesh where it is connected to the shell is receding and now there is a sizable hole. also i noticed something is loose inside and i can hear/feel it rattling inside

ive quarantined him but i fear the worst.

i think a vet to check this out seems like the way to go. it seems like the damage int doing much or it can lose its whole body if it continues. they might amputate the whole leg or just give it shot or somthing. the best way to go is a vet now and soon before it gets worse

get it to a vet ASAP. did you have any other turtles/animals in the tank before quarantine.
