my husband got this idea that my daughter needed a turtle "because she likes turtles". i know that is the wrong way to get a pet but someone gave us 2 hatchlings. We had them i tried to do the best that i could, but i have never had a turtle and one pasted a way. i felt so bad and cried but i thought i have no idea what to do so i called my local pet shop and they started to get some things that I needed. we tried different foods, and i am happy to announce that our baby is probably 8" and doing very well. boy are they work. this one loves water, no land, will purch on a rock but swims most of the time. i am not sure what kind this turtle is. we have had it for about 4 years. i am not sure if it is a boy or girl and i know that i am prediduce but i think he is beautiful. yes i refer to it as a him. i don't have any pictures to load but he is kind of a black shell with whiteish fan shapes on each piece on his back. on the bottom he has the coolist fan shapes on the bottom also. i need to find out more info on turtles and need help none of the pictures that i am seeing look like him.
