I picked up "Aquatic Turtles" by David T. Kirkpatrick at Petsmart and was very impressed with its quality. I'm sure any turtle keeper may find bits or pieces with which they disagree but overall it is a very good book for any keeper, new or old, to take a look through.

It can be purchased online at
http://www.amazon.com/Aquatic-Turtles-Complete-Herp-Care/dp/0793828856

As well many reptile-related articles published by Kirkpatrick are online here: http://www.unc.edu/~dtkirkpa/stuff/biblio.html

Quote:
DAVID T. KIRKPATRICK has been keeping and breeding turtles for over twenty years. He was Secretary of the New England Herpetological Society and participated in a program to help the recovery of the Plymouth redbelly turtle. David and his wife live in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
