I picked up "Aquatic Turtles" by David T. Kirkpatrick at Petsmart and was very impressed with its quality. I'm sure any turtle keeper may find bits or pieces with which they disagree but overall it is a very good book for any keeper, new or old, to take a look through.
It can be purchased online at

As well many reptile-related articles published by Kirkpatrick are online here: http://www.unc.edu/~dtkirkpa/stuff/biblio.html
