| what is a good filter, I have a 40 gallon reptile tank with about 8 inches of water that houses 3 res babies and some guppies. I have the turtle 501 filter canister and the water doesn't stay clean for long at all. I bought a 75 gallon wide fish tank and don't want to put them in there until I get a decent filter. p.s. I have three live plants as well. |

i would strongly suggest an external canister filter. i have a 40 gallon tank with two juvinille turtles and i use a Fluval 305. it works wonderfully. i got it for christmas and i set it up and the same day the water was crystal clear. i would go for the 405 with the bigger tank. A bit pricier, but definately worth it. its a great system _________________ I love my turtles! |

I have a canister but I think it sucks. I will try the one that you mention, I'd hate to get the bigger tank and still have the same problem. _________________ 3- red eard sliders |
