| Hi I am a teacher and have bought a turtle as a class pet. I have had my African side-head turtle for about a month and he is not acting well. I do not know much about turtles and could use some help. The pet store told me he would eat minnows so I have a few in his tank, but he has not eaten them. I began putting reptomin floating food sticks in his tank as well but have not seen that those are being eaten either. He has a UVB lamp, basking area, and heat lamp. I am going to purchase a water heater today. I think he is sick though. He is foaming at the mouth and his skin has a pinkish tint. He has not been swimming the last few days either. I don't want him to die. My class and I would be devastated. What do I need to do? Any advice would be great! |

Yikes, sounds like he needs to see a vet. With his skin is turning pink that is not a good sign. It sounds like Septicemia, a blood poisoning. _________________
