Yesterday I bought a turtle from PJ's Pet Store. I already had a turtle at home who is 6 months old and is 3 inches in shell length. The sales person at the pet store told me that the turtle I was buying came from bad owners who didn't want him anymore. He said the turtle was kept in a very small tank (I'm guessing Beta size) and had no lights or dock or heater. I thought it was a little weird, because that might have been only what they brought the turtle to the store in. His shell is fine. It has no rot and isn't soft.
My Question...
This turtle is approx. 2 inches in shell length. If it were really kept in a small tank like that it wouldn't have the room to grow therefore determining his age is almost impossible. If the turtle didn't have the room to grow, will he be able to grow now? I have both these turtles in a 50 Gallon tank for now. Please help if you can. Thanks.
The Clayton...

| with limited amounts of space, they may grow slower, but they certainly don't stop, they would just die from lack of space. thats where the whole death bowl thing came about. with no lights and what not, i don't know how it lived as long as itdid. |
