hi all, my name is amanda, i live in brooklyn. about a year ago my roommate and i rescued an eastern three toed box turtle from someone who wasn't taking care of her =[ her back toenails had grown into her foot, her tail fell off, her beak was cracked open in 3 places and her shell was flaking off. she's almost 25 years old and really small. we're doing a pretty good job of taking care of her, but we're always looking for help and advice. the vet said she's doing great, gained 0.4 pounds recently (yay!) and we just love her so much!
everyone here seems to be so knowledgeable we are hoping to learn more about how to care for her.

silly me, i forgot to mention, our awesome turtle's name is BLUE because she hid in a blue box for the first week that we had her  |
