He hasnt eaten at all, doesnt bask, sleeps at bottom..... HELP!!!!!!! i dont know whats going on ive never had an aquatic turtle before.... im worried.... is there anything i can give him before it gots TOO serious and i have to take him to the VET? pleas help!

my cousin gave him to me at the end of JULY i think the 29 but she got him a month before i dont know where or how.... he's about the size of a 50 cent coin, i think its a he.. im not sure

then maybe its getting used to its new home still mine didnt eat for like 2 or 3 weeks which is when i got my glass aqurium back thn before tht it was in a plastic bowl but i did reaserch now its in a 20 gall

coolio.... i should wait i guess
im affraid its drowning when i see it at the bottom for a long time.. i cant help myself so i knock on the glass once to make sure... how long can they hold their breath?

I would not worry yet, my two Res did the same exact thing when i first got them and freaked out as well and thats when i found this messageboard 
I think maybe the Res is nervous of its new home and does not feel comfortable yet. I'm sure when you are not around it basks. You'd be suprised how smart and well they observe the area and can tell when they are being watched.
Give it some more time before you get nervous.
