First of all, i think im a bad pet owner. I've had several die on me. Recently, I had a baby RES die because he was weak and drowned in the water. Now, I have 3 grown RES and a baby one. Just recently, one of my growned RES stopped eating. Everytime I try to put the food near him, he swims away. I have not seen him eat for the past 4 days, ever since that small one died.

Continue to watch your turtle carefully, but my experiance has been that RES' appetite will change and at certain times of the year it will decrease. My female RES was recently very sick with pnuemonia and she did not eat, but there were more symptoms than loss of appetite. Thankfully she is doing very well after two visits to the vet and lots of tender loving care. Very Happy

So what did you do exactly to take care of it? My turtle hasnt eaten for 2 weeks, the shell is still in good condition, nothing seems to be wrong with the turtle. He seems weak. Water temperature is ok... I dont know what else to do besides taking it to the vet. How much do those things cost anyway?
