Hey all,
There is a 31 or so year old tortoise owned by an old lady, who kept it after her son moved out. It's not very big, maybe seven inches. The lady wants to give him to somebody to care for better than she is, she has a hard time of it... my wife and I are contemplating taking him in. Hopefully somebody can identify the tortoise breed from these pics. If you note any concerns, please let me know!

Terrapene carolina carolina
Was at one time, a fairly abundant animal. Now, due to, among other things, sharp population decline, it is protected over most of its range. There are currently six accepted subspecies of the common box turtle. |
