I've had my yellow belly slider (YBS) & false map turtle (FMT) (I identified them myself) for 3 weeks now, they are both very small, the YBT is Aprox 1.2 inches and the FMT is a around 2.5 inches big so I presume they are VERY young.
The described markings are all located on the underneath of each turtle on its legs, feet, arms and neck.
2 weeks ago I noticed the FMT had various spots and some larger red/brown marks, a day later one of the bigger marks had turned yellow and wart like and now (3rd week) ALL of the marks are bigger including the now yellow one; AND The infection on the side of its neck has grown the most and appears now to be on a large lump, perhaps a Cyst?
A for the first week of this problem there were no major changes and the YBS seemed to be okay, but now, it seems the YBS has caught the infection too, not so wildly but it seems to be developing.
I'm sure you can understand I'm very worried about my two little turtles and I've searched long and hard on the internet and cant seem to find an apropriate answer, ive phoned various reptile vets but they cant work it out without seeing the turtle which I am unable to do for a while due to expenses.
Please post any thoughts on this infection, I hope to find someone who can identify and help me with the problem!
PS: Both turtles have behaved normally with no odd behaviour, they stil eat well and have the appetite to do so, the water temperature is always steady and they dont sit on their heater. Also, they bask as usual and often, usually with the smaller one sitting ontop of the FMT under a UV ray.
The first picture is of the first noticed apperence and the second or of the infection now.
