I FOUND THIS TURTLE ON THE ROAD AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IT IS URGENTLY PLEASE HOW DO I ADD HER PIC

To add a picture you need to have ahosting service like photobucket. Onc ethe picture is up loaded htere you can click the link they provide for an image. Copy that address onto your message.

Painted turtle.

Unless he is hurt try to find a natural habitat to release him into.

SHE WAS ACTUALLY A PET THE PEOPLE IN FRONT OF ME THREW HER OUT AND I STOPPED AND GRABED HER YOU CAN TELL SHES A PET BC WHEN YOU PICK HER UP SHE LETS YOU PET HER AND ISNT SCARED OR SNAPPY

Yikes, then you need to decide what you want to do. Properly taking care of a turtle is quite a commitment in time and money.

You can start by checking the green button links at the top of this page and check out the setups page. Instead of the shown glass aqarium you can also start with a large rubbermaid tub, basking area, UV light and basking light, heater, filter is good if you don't want to do water changes every couple days. This can giv eyou a chance to save up the money for a bigger glass tank. You will need at least a 50 gal.

Turtles live 15+ years, that is the commitment of time I was refering to.

Or you can find a turtle rescue in your area.

THANKS I FOUND A BOX TURTLE ABOUT 4 YEARS BACK AND HE WAS HURT I CALLED THE VET AND SHE TOLD ME TO CATCH HIM SOME GRASSHOPERS SLUGS SNAILS CRICKETS AND SO ON AND SHE SAID THAT HIS USUAL DIET WAS 50% MEAT 50% GREENS SO I KNOW THAT MUCH AND I HAVE A CLOTH PET CARRIER I KEEP HER IN AT NIGHT THEN THE FIRST HALF OF THE DAY SHE STAYS IN THE TUB WITH MABY 2 INCHES OF WATER ON ONE SIDE AND A HEAT ROCK ON THE OTHER I ACTUALLY NEED TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF TURTLE SHE IS BC I NEED TO KNOW IF SHE IS LAND OR WATER AND WHAT HER TYPE NEEDS ASS FAR AS ENIVORMENT AND FOOD SO CAN YOU TELL WHAT SHE IS I THINK SHES A PAINTED BUT I NEED TO KNOW FOR SURE

She is a bit different than a boxie. She will need a diet of mostly vegetables like romaine lettuce(not iceburg or she will starve) Kale, carrots are excellent shread them with your vegetable peeler, mine liek chasing peas, she can have little bits of fruits like apples and bananas, and a couple times a week she can have meats like a little tuna or dried shrimp.

Grubs and worms are very fatty and Paint's don't do well on a diet of them. They also need a different veriety of nutrients. Pellet diets also work well with suppliments of fresh food.

As she is a water turtle you will need a setup like I described above. Water, with a good basking area.

You need to be careful with the kids too. Make sure you wash well everytime you touch her or her enviroment. Them too. I would also suggest she be non accessible to them. Turtles carry salmonella and children get sick and some die from this every year. Not something you want to deal with.
My grandson now lives with me. I had to change some of my tanks to make it safe for all of us.

As for your avitar you need to resize your pictures. If you use photobucket it is easy. I upload a double of the picture I want to use and rename it with ava at the end. Then I know it is for my avatar. Click on the edit botton above the picture and then choose resize. The drop down bar will give you the option to resize it for an avatar. Don't go with the real tiny one it is way to small. Then it will be the size you need to place it here.
