Found this little guy this morning in the middle of the road while out walking. Help me figure out what kind.  Sorry the pics are a little blurry.

| definetly RES... however, you won't be able to sex them till they are much older and bigger. if you have more than one... you will get a pretty good idea of which is the boy and which is the girl by the rate they grow. female turtles will grow much faster than boys... but it will be able before you can tell. |

i think the way you cant tell if a res is a boy or a girl is by

Tail : Long = Girl / Short = Boy
Belly (yellow part) : more black circles = girl / Less = Boy
Texture of Top Shell : smooth = girl / rough & more textured = boy

| out of your list the only thing that is correct is the tail length... second would be the nails... then as they get older the jaw... other than that there are not many physical fetures but they wont be able to be sexed until they are several months old... all babies tails and nails are the same. |
