My 4yr old RES has developed a white chalky shell recently. There has been no change in his behavior or habitat. I tried cleaning off the shell but nothing comes off. I also noticed a dot of white on his head. The only way to describe it is non-slimey substance just chalky looking. Can it be the water? I use distilled water in my 40gal tank & water conditioner drops as I've done for years now. I have the heater & lighting in place.
Any ideas? |
