I'm trying to set up a tank for my 2 young turtles
heaters is something i know i need soon but i'm kinda confused on a few things
1. protection for my turtles , i've read somewhere that certain heaters have some guard to protect your turtles from touching it but i haven't seen this mentioned on most of the ones i've looked at online
2. are some not suitable for younger turtles ?
once again thanks in advance for your advice |

I'm probably not the best person to give you advice because I'm a turtle newbie but I can just tell you from my experience. I think pretty much any type of heater is ok for babies. Also, if you are worried about your turtle burning itself on the heater you can put something over it to kind of block your turtles from climbing on it (I think some people recommended pvc pipe).
I dont have anything really blocking my heater and whenever I touch it,it never seems too hot to the touch. One of my turtles always sits on the heater and he seems fine. I hope this helps you! Also, the people at petsmart are very helpful when it comes to picking one out! |
