We should tell you about We setup and my turtles. We have 3 RES hatchlings, 2 African Sideneck Turtles, 2 plecos. Our turtles’ names are: Columbus, Turbo and, Einstein, Aireign, Lily. The pleco’s name is Plato, Copeland.

Columbus is our first turtle. We had bought Columbus and another turtle (we did not have names for the turtles yet) from the dreaded flea market. We know that was not the best thing to do but it was an impulse buy. Once we got them home we started looking up the type of turtle we bought and whatever information we could find regarding: habitat, growth and behavior, and feeding. Columbus’s tank mate died we think “it” (we still do not know the genders of our little turtles) got stressed when we went on vacation to see my parents. We then decided that Columbus needed some companionship, and purchased two additional turtles (Einstein and Turbo) from a local fish store. They where not living in the best of conditions. But better than some places we visited locally. All of our turtles are happy and relatively healthy, they have been to a vet, and he has placed them all on meds for parasites and has put Columbus on liquid Calcium to help him grow because he is to small for his age. All are eating and swimming fine though.

Our turtles have not tried to harm the pleco. We made sure the pleco was large enough for them not to swallow or chomp in half. We made sure the pleco was placed in the tank before we reintroduced the turtles after cleaning the tank and feeding them. They also receive treats and veggies.

We have at this point a 20 gallon tank, a filter, heater, basking lamp, UVB light, and a log tunnel, river rocks that are to large for them to eat.

We also have 2 African Sideneck Turtles, one male and one female. The male, Aireign (Aaron) is 6 in and the female, Lily, is 4 in long. Both have been to the vet and have been given meds for Parasites. Our only problem with these guys is Lily hasn’t eaten anything but mealworms and we have tried everything. They live in a 75 gallon tank with river rocks, a log tunnel, Zoo Med Floating Dock, Rena XP3 filter, UVA and UVB lighting, and a pleco.

cool collection u've got there, do u have pix for them and their setups?

try mixing the mealworms with other food and feeding them to her. this may help (at least she's eating for now)

I've tried it all but she still will only eat mealworms. So after talking with our local herp man we are having to give tough love no meal worms still she eats pellets.
