I posted on here months ago when I was considering get a turtle but I just got one a few days ago
I have one baby RES but my landlord also has one so we decided to let them live together.I'm a little worried they might not get along or something but hopefully they will be ok.
I have them in a rubber made container with a UVB bulb and a heater so hopefully things are warm enough for them.
I'm really kinda stressed right now b/c i'm worried about mine eating and such b/c they wont eat around me and I dont know if mine is the one eating or my landlords.
Anyway,I will definitely post pics when I take some...my baby has yet to be named but his "roomate" is named Footsy. |

my turtle is really secretive when it comes to eating...i caught her eating the first day i brought her home from the pet store....i have had her for a week now. i havent seen her eat since that first day...every time i feed her she will swim over and look at the food then she looks at me cuz she knows i'm watching lol
you might want to separate your turtle for awhile and try feeding him separate so you can see if he is eating just to make sure |

| They have both started eating like little pigs. They even will eat from my hand now. I would not mind feeding them in a separate container b/c I dont have a filter installed yet but they wont eat when taken out of the cage. |

if they are nice and healthy, gradually getting them used to eating in a separate container is really a good way to go. i just use tupperware that is a good size then scoop them up individually (they each have thier own tub) and feed them in taht. eventually they will realize that the tub means food, and wait for you to feed them instead of freaking out. just gradually get them used to it: put them in the tub, then hold the food in front of them, eventually it will get to the point where you can just put them in with some pellets and let them eat. it also helps you see how much each individual turtle is actually eating. _________________ I love my turtles! |
