HI All, I've not been on for a while, as I have just moved home etc.
My question is more pointed toward those more experienced...though anyone may know the answer.....
IN my local pet shop they sell sliders...not a drama, i have two myself.
However...they are now selling a breed of turtle they call "SNAKE-NECKED TURTLES" My question is does such a breed exist? I personally think they look more like their shell is way too small! I coulkdnt get a pic of them, as the woman was looking constantly...but i will try.
PLease help...I'm soooo curious.
Also, these turtles are being sold at a rediculously high price!! And the petshop is trying to sell them in pairs! Is that the right thing to do?
Thanks for your time, I look forward to reading any info on this. _________________ Have a nice day, and remember to smile and be nice to all! |

Snake-neck/side-neck turtles are a real species, yes. They have a neck roughly 2/3 the length of their carapace. Snake neck is one of several common names for them though, and there are multiple species with long necks. So you'd have to ask the shop owners for the scientific name if you really want to identify them. Or post a pic |
