Everyone here always has great ideas. I have a male and female RES for 2 years. They just moved into a 20 gallon long and loving it. I'd like to know if anyone has any ideas on making a container that can hank on the tank (similar to HOT filter) so they don't lose swimming space. The container is for my female to lay eggs in. It can be used as a second basking area when not used for intended purpose. I recently read they need sand to lay their eggs or could become very ill from holding the eggs in. Like others, I assumed females would lay their eggs in water.
People seem to like rubbermaide products. Any ideas on the type or size of the container (don't want to buy something that can be harmful if eatten), sand or other material to mix in, and best way to hang this container? I realize gluing pexiglass is easier, but I rather have something that can be moved from tank to tank when needed. Thanks for your help again.
