unfortunatly there is alge growin my poor turts tanks and was wonderin how to clean it off!! its on the little rocks, seashells, and dock.  |

| If its really bad, I will pull out all the stuff with algae when I clean the tank (take the turtles out too) and wash it with warm/hot water and just use one of those green, rough scrubbing pads. It gets most of the algae off, enough to make me happy. I have been trying plecos to eat the algae, they work, but my turtle likes to eat them and I have gone through like 7 of them. |

| If you have your tank near a window, you might want to move it. It will slow down the algea growth. |

whether it is near a window or not will not make much difference. the uva and the uvb lights used for turtle/reptile tanks, on top of the water makes it perfect breeding grounds for algea (a type of underwater plant) i get tonnes of algea and my blinds are always shut in my room. it is the lights, not the window. _________________ I love my turtles!  |
