|
|
My UV strip is about a meter long and runs the length of the tank. I've tended to just leave it on all the time and I have a spotlight which I leave on during the daytime, turn it off at night after feeding.
SHould I be leaving the UV strip on all the time or should I turn it off at night too? If that is the case, if the water's at a nice temperature, how important/necesaary is the spotlight? |

| It should be 12 on 12 off. I have also heard it helps keep the turtle in sync with the seasons in you modify the hours with the seasons. |

Ah bugger. I hope I haven't fried their tiny little minds having on all the time!
Thanks for the info though.
What about the spotlight? Really necessary? |

Basking light yes. I have both of mine on a timer, less worries for me. |
