when setting up lighting with a uv light what should I do? should i buy the long florecent like uv bulb and use it in an aquarium lid, then buy a heat lamp. or keep the aquarium light as a heat source and buy a seperate uv light? does that make sense? anyone with any suggestions!? _________________ "I'm as self-contained as a turtle. | I have been using the UVB/A long bulb that goes in the flourescent hood and then another heat light in a clamp on lamp. You can see my set up if you want, it's pictured in this same forum under "New Basking Spot Finished." I have two heat lamps going, one over the big basking spot and one that goes over the floating log. The UV light is in the hood that stretches out over the whole tank. I personally like the UV in the hood because it spreads the light out over the whole tank, this lets the turtles get the UV wherever they are. |
