Just joined after lurking for a bit Embarassed

To start of let me introduce myself,
I have a lot of herp exp. but am new to turtles and am looking to set-up a 135g 72x24x18 wide tank as a home for water turtles, I have all the lights UVA, UVB, moon, I used to breed large and Med pythons, specifically Blood pythons, and yellow headed retics. but after the first grandkid was born my wife called a halt to it, this 135g tank is all thats left. I got permission to put turtles in it already, been married 10years yes I had to ask for permission Smile

I had it set-up for fish, but fish don't really interest me
so I've been doing alot of research into turtles and have started modifing filters and such for them.
How many turtles will this hold ? everyone seems to have different opinions, but for filtration I have 1 modified powerhead for a minor current, and 2 huge biowheel filters I plan on running down a water fall at the back, plus a full undergravel filter to help clean the river stone substrate, ya I know bare is better, but I'm hoping the filtration I've got will keep up with it. Rolling Eyes

Anyways I got some ideas from other sites and I kinda want this being my first to be a little slice of paradise for whatever I put into it. I almost jumped the gun and got 2 baby map turtles before it was done, but self-control and concience kept me from screwing up Smile

sounds like a cool setup, the two baby maps will do good in there for a long while (hopefully they don't fight at all). Got pix of the place??
