Here is the basking spot I have been working on for the past few days. I used a plastic container for the base and a metal screen container for the fence. Its about 18" by 18" and hopefully my turtle will like it.

I cut some PVC tubing (the stiffer kind) to the angle it would be resting and put some bolts through the bottom of the base into the tubing. the bottom ends I just capped and they rest into the side of the tank. I wanted to make sure that I could still use this setup if I only had a desk or stand that was the size of the tank itself.

Just wondering how the new basking area is working out...? Has the turt been using it?

Yeah, she has been using it. She is still not super comfortable about it and goes up when I am not looking. I know she has been using it though because I find the sand and dirt all over the ramp and the tank when I get home from work. I had to give her some incentive to go up there in the beginning so I put food in the far back of the cage.
